Challenge

Although Grupo Unceta has an extensive experience in traditional sales, backed by its more than 150 years of existence, over time and the advent of new technologies have led Grupo Unceta to decide to develop a new business strategy by entering the digital world with the aim of maintaining its market competitiveness, provide all its current customers with autonomy in the procurement process, and reach new customers who could become aware of the company's distributive offering.

This way, the main challenge was to develop an e-commerce platform that catered to both businesses and individual consumers. Additionally, it was crucial for this platform to fully integrate with the existing ERP management system, ensuring total synchronisation between both systems. It was also necessary to implement support for large enterprises through a punchout integration, an integration that allows buyers to access the supplier’s online store directly from their own purchasing system, thus facilitating a more efficient ordering process.

Solution

Grupo Unceta contacted us to accompany and guide them in developing their e-commerce strategy. The project was characterised by constant identification of requirements based on identified needs, a strategic decision-making process, and personalised advice that has guaranteed the fulfilment of Grupo Unceta's expectations. To carry out the project, the e-commerce platform was developed using Intershop as a technological partner, as this solution perfectly fits Grupo Unceta’s needs for implementing their e-commerce strategy.

Conclusion

In just one year of operation, the developed e-commerce platform has registered more than 5,000 orders, including those from businesses, individual consumers, and freelancers. Notably, Grupo Unceta has managed to penetrate the freelancer niche thanks to the opening of their online sales channel. The platform also features complete integration with the ERP management system, allowing total synchronisation between both systems in aspects such as customers, orders, prices, and promotions. Additionally, the punchout system integration with more than ten large Spanish corporations has been successfully completed.
